IAAF.org: Five remain in hunt for one million – Paris TDK Golden League

All five TDK Golden League Jackpot contenders won through, and three world

season leads were established in front of a 63,851 crowd at tonight’s

Meeting Gaz de France Paris Saint-Denis, in the Stade de France.

The third TDK Golden League meeting of the year started with five Jackpot

contenders and also ended that way, as Cloete (w HJ), Williams-Darling (w

400m), Sanchez (400mH), Olsson (TJ) and Alekna (DT), all won.

On the track the meeting got underway with consecutive victories for two of

these five who remain in-line for at least a share of the one million dollar

prize (for winning at all six TDK Golden League meetings).

Sanchez and Williams-Darling - dominant wins

Felix Sanchez of the Dominican Republic (1st – Event World Ranking)

found himself neck and neck with USA’s James Carter (11) down the back

straight of the men’s 400m Hurdles. But it was Japan’s former World

bronze medallist Dai Tamesue (=12) who held the advantage coming into the last

100m.
