Santa Claus at the 3rd Berlin Easter Run

While around the world runners are racing their best times at the spring

classic races, Berliners are testing their form and improving their times at

training races.

At 2 p.m. on Easter Saturday, the SFB Running Movement is offering its

traditional training in the Tiergarten Park, with start and finish at the

Siegessäule at the corner of Hofjägerallee. John Kunkeler will open

the Easter weekend together with the running trainers from SCC-RUNNING.

At 9:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2003, Berlin runners (and tourists)

can participate in the traditional 3rd Berlin Easter Run organised by SCC-

RUNNING. Start and finish are at the Mommsen Stadium, Waldschulallee 34 in

Charlottenburg.

Bernd Hübner will run his traditional Grunewald training course (a 10

km fun course), with an Easter egg hunt at the Teufelssee and a large running

Easter Bunny (Wolfgang Paech). Last year he was accompanied by a runner dressed

as Santa Claus.

The forester Lippert from the Forest District Saubucht will receive a bottle

of advocaat from the thankful runners, who get fresh water from him all year

long when they train in the Grunewald.

Fitting for the day, at the finish the Easter Bunny will give the runners a

sip of advocaat and other treats instead of the normal refreshments.

No registration necessary—just come and run!

The sport department Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf will open Mommsen Stadium

for the Easter runners to change and shower—Thanks!
