IAAF.org: 15,000 answer Bidouane’s women’s race call

More than 15,000 women and young girls, of different social classes,

from the age of 12 to 70, replied to the call of Nezha Bidouane,

President of the Association of “Women, Realization and Values”, which

on Sunday (12), organised the first ever women’s race in Temara,

Morocco, to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Following the established charity/ fun run initiatives of other

African greats like 1984 Olympic 400m Hurdles champion Nawal el

Moutawakel, IAAF Council Member, who organizes the annual famous

women’s race “Courir pour le plaisir (run for fun), and double Olympic

Champion, Hicham El Guerrouj, who is the initiator of international

road race “Le foulees internationals de Berkane”, Bidouane has now also

invested her energy into organisation of a sporting festival.
