36th real,- BERLIN MARATHON sold out. Haile Gebrselassie will try for another world record in Berlin on September 20th

Four months ahead of the event the 36th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON on September 20th is fully booked. Only several travel agents and charities still offer reserved entries. Please click here. Early as never before the biggest German marathon has reached the limit of 40.000 participants. Race entree for the Inline Skating marathon on September 19th is still possible.

Haile Gebrselassie announced on Sunday, May 18th that he will try to break his own world marathon record again in Berlin on September 20th. The Ethiopian running legend has run three times at the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON and clocked three wins and two world records. The first mark he set in 2007 clocking 2:04:26 hrs, the second one last year with a stunning time of 2:03:59 hrs. It was the 6th world record since 1997 run on the flat and fast Berlin course where last three world marathon records were set. He won a 10 km roadrace in Manchester last Sunday with a time of 27:39 proving to be in good shape. Gebrselassie wants to set the world marathon mark as tough to reach as possible and prefers the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON on September 20th over the world championship marathon in Berlin on August 22nd.
